As a child, the rocks in the creek were covered with creosote, today the stream flows clear. this is a great alternative to paddling the cahaba and its tributaries. canoe rentals should be around $25 per day. shuttle service is available through the outfitter located on the creek. accommodations: hotels are nearby.. The alabama bass trail features 11 premiere bass fishing lakes lake guntersville, wheeler lake, pickwick lake, lewis smith lake, neely henry lake, logan martin lake, lay lake, lake jordan, alabama river, lake eufaula, and the mobile-tensaw river delta.. Went to canoe creek saturday and found a nice spot with plenty of crappie. caught 40 with 14 keepers. biggest was 15" and a couple 13" along with several at 10". caught on artifical bait and minnows about even. had a lot of fun and here's a couple of pics..
