I built this canoe & kayak rack using schedule 40 - 2 inch pvc. i changed up the design a bit by modifying the length of the pieces. i have a 14'6" canoe that i want to put on top with kayaks on the bottom.. Homemade pvc kayak rack , can store 4 kayaks,paddles ,kayak car rack .made from 1.5" schedule 40 pvc 40"wide x 5' long (cost around $250 in 2015 prices) has 4 swiveling casters with two being lock kind ( otherwise rack will roll away when loading) .. My $100 diy pvc kayak rack with our newly acquired kayak collection, storage has become an important requirement. while there are plenty of commercial solutions available, most are prohibitively expensive, difficult to use, or require large amounts of wall space..
