Scupper Hole Kayak Cart With Pvc

I was lookin at the kayak carts that fit into the scupper holes. after seeing what companies get for them ($100+), i decided to make my own. i built this out of some extra 3/4in sch 40 pvc i had.. *you need to add “t’s” to the top of this design to cradle the hull. pad the top of the t bars with a pool noodle or similar foam wrap. based on kayak manufacturers recommendations, we do not recommend supporting your kayak through the scupper holes.. The scupper holes are too large for the cart. the kayak bottoms out on the wheels. i modified the cart using 6 hockey pucks ( drilled holes through center) to raise the rubber tips on the cart about 3 inches. the kayak is now supported about 2 inches above the wheels. if your kayak has large scupper holes this cart will not work without mods..
